Şükrü Burak Çetin is a computer vision and geospatial data scientist specializing in the integration of deep learning techniques with geographic information systems (GIS). He currently leads the Spatial Data Science Team at the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality's Directorate of Geographic Information Systems, where he oversees applied research and innovation in large-scale urban analytics and geospatial artificial intelligence (GeoAI). Çetin holds a B.Sc. in Computer Engineering, and his interdisciplinary background spans medical image analysis, smart agriculture, and urban informatics. His earlier work includes the development of AI-assisted diagnostic tools in digital pathology and vision-based automation systems for precision agriculture. He has authored peer-reviewed publications in areas such as remote sensing, image super-resolution, and histopathological image segmentation, with an emphasis on deep learning approaches for interpreting complex visual data. His current research interests lie at the intersection of urban morphology, remote sensing, and artificial intelligence, focusing on the development of spatially-aware analytical models to support data-informed decision-making in urban governance and planning contexts.
