Eng. Fayez Alsayil is the Director of the Geospatial Information Center and the Urban Observatory at the Madinah Region Development Authority in Saudi Arabia. With over 15 years of experience in sustainable urban development, geospatial technologies, urban data management, and observatory systems, he is a prominent advocate for data-driven planning and resilient city solutions in the region. Under his leadership, Al Madinah has emerged as a global pioneer, becoming one of the first cities worldwide to achieve the Triple ISO 37120 Series Certification and receive the SDG Cities Gold Certificate from UN-Habitat. Eng. Alsayil has spearheaded major initiatives in spatial data infrastructure, sustainable urban monitoring, and the integration of resilience indicators into smart city frameworks. His work has earned international recognition, including the Application Excellence Award from the Geospatial World Forum. He is an active member of several national and local technical and advisory committees, contributing to the advancement of geospatial policy and innovation across Saudi Arabia. Eng.
